has anyone ever swapped the yoke for a stick, I need to find a way to quit bumping the door handle when I pull the yoke back

  • #2
Part of the Swick STC was to install a center stick with a "T" bar across the top. When it was active the STC allowed for any part to be done on the airplane. The STC is no longer supported. If you tried to go with dual stick entry and exit from the plane would become more difficult. The best bet is to probably figure out how to avoid the door handle. With a 1000 plus hours of Taylorcraft time I have never had that issue that I recall.

As an added note all of the conversions I have seen required welding and considerable fabrication.

I'd be interested in how the yoke bumps the door handle? I've flown many Taylorcraft with yokes, and never had your problem.

I took it as he was bumping the door handle when pulling the yoke, and not the yoke hitting the handle.
