There was one Taylorcraft Sport built that I am aware of, and it somehow was certificated as a SLSA. It was built in the mid 2000's. The light sport rules went into effect in 2004. This doesn't help with certification of future airplanes in the same category.

I tried it years ago, but had no clue what I was doing. Now I at least have an idea, added commercial and flight instructor glider to my resume, but have not tried it. We don't often get days with the big thermals here in the Midwest like they do out West....

I looked, just have a small amount of 1/2", and it does not say 3M. Everything I have is older, so it may be before the 3M tape.

Not all clip wings are experimental, some are still standard category modified under a STC. Anyway the change is to experimental exhibition category which is somewhat restrictive. If you could find a certified Rotax, then it should be doable and can keep it standard category. A certified 80 horse would...

I have not bought any of this, but it looks correct. You will need 4 feet. It also says they sell rivets and countersinks. Let us know how it turns out.
