    Hello herbert_jode
Welcome to the Taylorcraft Forum (sorry for the very late welcome message!)

It appears you've missed out on the bungee bumpers this time, but tell us a little about yourself in the meantime (as an introduction).

    Regards,
    Rob

Seems the bumpers are a bit hard to find. Before this time I found a pair at an old time hardware store. We all need to keep our eyes open for when any turn up. A lucky find could get someone back in hte air who missed out this time!

I can get more, as many as I want, my problem was that I have almost 1000 out of my pocket and it was 42.45 if you got a pair in a box and a bunch of people were sending me $20... I didnt want to put an invoice in because this was not a business thing, I was just trying to help out and a enough people didnt realize that 17 x 2 was 34 and it was 8.45 usps shipping. I could send the last set I was keeping for myself if Herbert needs them. Tim

Sent Tim a message about bumpers, no worries either way there.

Sure thing Rob. Based in Anchorage, AK. Bought 3564T last fall off a guy in Birchwood, did a lot of my PPL training it it and now am thrilled to fly it around southcentral Alaska. It is a very fun plane! With a little luck and some good winters it'll live on skis during the winters as it did last. Based out of Merrill Field now.

Should probably change forum moniker, I go by Peter, ha!

Peter, that looks quite a machine (love the big tyres!). What tailwheel are you using...it almost looks like a skid!

Scott tailwheel. Thanks for the heads up Jeff. I think I'm all squared away now for bumpers, but great to hear amazon has got them.

                  Thanks,

Little rubber thing on the tube in the center of the first photo and to the right of the chain in the second. May not help much, it is kind of hard to photograph in place.

As an aside (and continuing the slight thread drift), there is a lubrication hole on top of the control column where each shaft passes through the "H" frame. Hank's pictures above show the general location; between the sprocket and the universal joint, I think. There is a "screw" channel machined into the bronze bushing to allow lubrication oil/grease to lubricate the approx. 1-inch length of the bushing.

This should be part of everyone's annual lubrication schedule. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to access without removing the coaming between the instrument panel and the windscreen, unless you are a contortionist.

I don't have a photo of that location myself.

It is almost impossible to "see" the hole but if you check at a sewing machine repair shop you can get one of these. It has a tube that can be pulled out and put in the oil holes to put a few drops in. Put something down below to catch the oil when you think the oiler is in and it isn't. Can make kind of a mess. I have this one filled with KROIL which is why I have the jar. That oil seems to be able to climb walls and spread out over everything. I keep the oiler in the jar to contain the oil. Best oil ever for anything you need penetrating oil for. At $100 a gallon it SHOULD be! Click image for larger version

Not sure why my PC randomly rotates some photos! Every time I turn it the PC turns it back. The little red cap is placed over teh tube and does a pretty good job of keeping the oil IN the oiler.
