Pictures will help. I have all of the SNs Taylorcraft produced in the database but a BUNCH of them have no other information so I don't know which of them may have been Chummys. Anyone know more about them? If anyone knows any Chummy NC numbers or Serial numbers maybe I can pull some information...

Changing the weight IS changing the configuration. On most planes the weight change alone doesn't have enough impact to worry about, but on some it does. If you own one where it does it would be in the specifications for the plane....

The CG RANGE is aerodynamic and doesn't change if the configuration is constant. The CG itself DOES change as fuel is burned or loading shifts. The requirement is that the actual CG does NOT exceed the CG...

Bill, Please have the new caretaker contact me and I will update the database. Information and contact info from the database is NOT shared unless both parties want to. It is very useful for guys looking for a plane close to them geographically or in production.
Really good to see you...

If you route the cable right (like in the drawing) they won't rub on t he bungees or slip over them to rest on the diagonal tube (which will tear up the tube if a bungee fails).

It was Dellicker and was NC-29690 SN 2543. I have SN 3214 and have loads of photos of my rebuild and really look forward to seeing how this plane progresses. We need to push for some "Portotville Ghost" nose art for her. Time to start gathering up parts for bringing her back to life!!!...

If you are really lucky the cable between ailerons was already weak and snapped. Don't hold your breath. More likely the wind was banging the ailerons up and down and the hinge fitting failed (especially since you have a later post war plane with the cast ones). They are bad for getting corrosion...
