Can you give them a call on Monday and see if they could make it? This is a drawing of the Taylorcraft wire (I didn't take it, but it is the best one I have) WITH a piece of Martin wire showing how they are different. I can get a sample to you (or them) if they think they can make it. The Martin wire is PITA to use!

Could someone please edit a second picture from the one Hank sent ? Would like to remove the aircraft referance names and simply state right as in the Taylorcraft wire and wrong in place of the Martin wire.. folks do not like making aircraft stuff.... This is indeed an owner supplied part. !! Will see how much needs to be purchased.

I'm a couple hours from Nesho as well.

About 4 years ago I contacted a number of CNC wire benders, it was at the time outside the capability of the machines. I can try again.

Here is a drawing of Aeronca wire. Also attached a drawing that I had one of my engineers make off of a sample of Taylorcraft wire. I have .dwg file of the Tcraft wire drawing as well.

Note, the original wire is music wire as noted on the Aeronca drawing.

I even tried to source some music wire here and the supplier told me I had to go to a MUSIC STORE FOR THAT!!! I asked him if he was just a salesman and didn't really know ANYTHING about wire! He then suggested maybe a piano repair shop. THEY ARE OUT THERE AND THEY VOTE AND REPRODUCE!!!! We may be doomed!

I have found the only place that didn't get the slightest bit nervous when you told them you needed something you were going to use on an airplane was at a Harley Davidson place. Those guys jut give you a "WOAH! Cool, you actually FLY in those things?"

That's my photo, if that's what you mean, and I'm very happy for it to be used.

I'd be very nervous using a drawing (as Mark posted); it would be better to reverse-engineer the correct Taylorcraft wire profile.

                            Rob,

I may be wrong however I believe that the PDF Mark sent is an engineer drawing taken from an actual Taylorcraft wire. That is what I am asking Mark for clarification. It sure looks like the drawing needed to make the Taylorcraft wire. If it is I am sending it to the MFG company for further discussion. They have agreed to take a look.

Hank , Have not heard anything from Mark. Please look at the engineering drawing Mark contributed . It looks to be spot on. I have been in touch with the Mfg wire guys and want to move this along asap if possible

That is why I offered to send a section of original wire to whoever can make it as well as a section of rib to test fit it on. NOT a great idea to buy a bunch of wire that is the wrong spacing!!!
