    Thanks in advance

These were shamelesslly shared from Rob Lees' efforts. Since the inquiry appears to originate from Rob's "neck of the woods", perhaps this could be replicated.

The key to harnesses is to keep them above the shoulders so you do not get spinal compression on an accident to the attach point needs to be above the level of the shoulders. TIm

Bruce Bixler (bless his memory) posted the pictures on one of the old Taylorcraft paper newsletters (remember those Hank?) and I incorporated these in my '46 BC12D rebuild. Because up 'til then, it had no shoulder harnesses.
I had to file a little tiddy bit here and there to make his drawings match my tubing, and maybe re-drill a hole in a fresh piece of 4130 steel because the bolt head wouldn't pass by the tubing...

I sure do remember those news letters. I have probably 90% of them and was trying to get copies to make a full set to scan. Ran into legal problems because evidently a company owns the rights to a lot of them and won't let them be reproduced. The whole project seems to have died on the vine. I need to try again. I "think" they can't stop us making copies of we don't profit from it but I am no lawyer. If we could do it I would make copies for no profit, I just don't want to get sued!
I have not only the Taylorcraft ones but the Virginia Carolina ones too. Anyone else have copies? Any lawyers familiar with copyright laws please chime in!! I have gotten lots of "opinions" about it, but they are worth just as much as my opinion.....not much. ;-)

What I was told was a commercial company took over making them up (supposed to also do a couple of other types news letters) and that they still owned the rights to them. Years ago I talked to some of the editors and all said making copies was fine except for teh ones the commercial company printed, they said no. If you know how to be sure they are public domain I am glad to share them! If just the ones they did are restricted we could at least share the rest. I would really like to get the ones I am missing!

I had mine around the rear spar tube. I hit a snow bank, flipped upside down and they held me in place. Worked perfect and I am still working on her.

I remember the old Bruce Bixler Taylorcraft news letters well. I have a notebook full from1993/ 94 forward till he stopped. Then the husband and wife(that also did the CUB club egads and I think another and promptly as a for profit team started their version of a Taylorcraft Club and in my opinion stopped any value in the offering. I wonder if they actually purchased the rights to Bruce's news letters?
