Jim, I tried to get permission to release copies of the newsletters I had collected and the Cub folks said ABSOLUTELY NOT! They said THEY had the rights and anyone who shared them had to pay them to share them. I was later told by someone who said they knew the law that they could not restrict sharing of the old Bixler ones but could sue if you shared their news letters. A later legal beagle said if there was no profit made they couldn't stop us sharing them. Another said you could not even recover your copy costs. Bottom line, I gave up. I have a near complete set but have NO IDEA what the legal implications are for sharing them. Who here is a publishing legal expert and can say for sure?

    Hank

These documents were the "Taylorcraft Owners Club" newsletters. As then members of the then Taylorcraft Owners Club, and I have proof that I paid monies to that Club, WE owned the copyright at that time (copies published subsequent to Bruce's untimely passing may be a different kettle of fish).

      But I'm not a lawyer.

        Hank,

THEIR copies in my opinion are probably not worth the paper they are printed on unless they reprinted some of the stuff out of Bruce's. I would not think they would have theright to Bruce's unless they purchased the rights to his. Anyhow I suppose all moot. Sure do cherish the ones Bruce sent out..

On a better note I will be finally sending out the wire this week.......

Understood. If some here want earlier copies of the ones we paid for as members of Bruce's tribe I would not think it a problem either. But that is just my unqualified opinion. Glad I saved all from when a subscriber!

What we really need is an attorney with a publishing background to let us know if we can tell the "Cub Folks" top pound sand. If so, I would be willing to share my collection and hopefully folks here could scan pages from their collection in better shape than mine. A full set of them on the Forum would be a GOLD MINE of great information!

We just don't need to get sued! Whether justified or not.

Not sure I am recalling things correctly, but I seem to remember that Bruce sold something to the folks from Wisconsin in regards to the club or newsletter or something. I could be completely off base here too.
