Okay. It was a pretty rough upgrade from the very old version we were on to 5.4 of the forum software.

It didn't even let me use the old image files, just move the raw data from within the database. So, until Robert Lees or tcraft can look at the settings for appearance/logos/etc, this will have to do.

But i think i was able to get all the functionality back in place under https. the 5.x version of the forum seems a lot friendlier towards having https. Tho putting it under the secure (https) interface really buggered up the usually easy upgrade.

Anyhow, please check things out and confirm that everything is working.

Anyone noticed how to drop down in a discussion to the last read post? Sure hope it isn't something with a color difference. Took me FOREVER to get the old system to be visible to me with filters. Now I can't tell what I have read and what I haven't again. Bad color vision SUCKS!

For New Posts, try using this link (it works for me):

Hope this helps! (my comments in Red)

I'm still learning too. The vBulletin software assumes we are all 14-year-old computer experts. Old fogies like us take a while to adapt. I'll try to help each and every query. What we need is Ryan Newel's 6-year old kids to tell us how to use it!

To post a reply, you now have to "write something". See picture. It's so facebay

Wow, this is different. I just sent a message to Admin, please disregard. Apparently I was signed-out during the changeover and that is why I could not post anything as this box does not show up until you sign back in. Thanks for the help and tips.

Are we going to have to somehow memorize that link you provided Rob to go to Unread Posts? That is not user friendly.

Thanks Rob, good tips. One thing I wanted to do also was to "mark all forums read" (or something similar to that) so I didn't have to wade through all the topics again. I think I found it...

Select the Forums tab, then scroll down to the bottom of the list and select "Mark Channels Read". That seemed to reset everything so I'm only seeing new posts or replies (edit) after then selecting the "New Topics" tab.

Hank, look at the style selection at the bottom left of the screen, there are a lot of different combinations - i picked blue yellow as the default. you can pick something else - maybe one of them is more visable. How about grunge>

Works great. Got rid of the post rejection/double post issue too.

                      Awesome job
                      Thank you

Marty, try the New Topics at the beginning of the second line.

I wonder if there is a class I can take so I can help with the forum...

I did, it does, works now! Thanks for the suggestion. I understand that we can't design the whole forum to compensate for me alone. I have a whole set of color filters that sometimes work GREAT when put in front of the screen. Now I don't need the filters for the forum! ;-)

Still need to figure out which one lets me see the VASI.
