What Aircraft Spruce sells comes in 25 foot rolls. I wouldn't want them any longer than that as they can get tangled up pretty easily.

Bumping this from the previous page as I really want to see this happen for the future folks.Originally posted by Jim Herpst View Post
I have one length in a tube that Hank sent me when I went down this Rabbit hole years ago.
Hopefully you will not find the same hole..
It will probably need to be done in a coil or coils of at least 200 feet each.(aprox enough for two wings...calculate that please...I am going from memory. )
Give me your address and I will send the tube.
Again length of the coil is not my issue but we can see that 25 foot rolls are reccomended.
There will probably be a minimum they need to run...Last edited by Jim Herpst; 10-31-2025, 17:57.

no, just run the wire, its a hardened spring wire.Originally posted by taylorcraft_52 View PostSo what is the procedure (anecdotally) for using a bunch of shorter pieces? Such as how many holes should one piece hit as a minimum, and could sections be welded together to make a continuous run?N29787

The bending shop has preliminary tooling designed and is confident the wire can be made. I should have a price and availability next week. Any idea of how much of the stuff is needed? My guess is the cost will be mostly in the tooling and setup meaning one bigger run will amortise the fixed costs better. It also might mean going broke trying to save money by making a huge supply.

150 feet per wing is a generous measurement per wing Here with my wing (s) nowOriginally posted by kevinbrooker View PostThe bending shop has preliminary tooling designed and is confident the wire can be made. I believe we should aim much higher than 3or 4 wings worth. After verification that it is indeed correct I believe as many owners we can get to step up to purchase the first run we should order accordingly. I would hope that number is much higher .Then perhaps someone doubles that number to hold for resale.Originally posted by Mark Bowden View PostTo start the volume discussion, I would buy 3-4 wings worth, maybe a bit more.
