  • BC12-D Fuel Tank

Is WagAero the only supplier of main fuel tanks for the BC12?

I am not aware of any other source of new tanks.

Edwin: Why do you need a new one? Is the old one missing?
Or is your existing one leaking?

It's leaking real bad from numerous pin holes, it,s an old Terneplate steel tank.

In that case you are right; replace it! But leak-test your aluminium replacement before installation!

Wing tank here, but you get the idea:

I got some really funny looks when I did my fuel leak check on the 41. Not as funny as the pharmacist I was trying to explain why I wanted condoms as large as possible that wouldn't burst easily. I needed an opening that could stretch over the fuel filler neck. Of course when I was asking I did NOT do it in a way he would know what I was really doing. When I came back and told him I had photos of the condoms in use it was a classic time. You need to go to the veterinary supply stores Hank. We get them for horses (Clydesdales) that your arm will fit in.

Wouldn't have been NEARLY as much fun as our regular drug store! Even better that I bought 3 and when I went back first thing I told him was the first one popped and I was lucky I got extras. I still have the third one. Not sure what to do with it. Been married for 48 years and no kids. I don't think I really need it for anything but the plane.

I will take your old tank if you are going to junk it! Let me know? Tim

oh and now is the time for a good valve if yours is an issue for being seized or leaking.

Just got an update on the tank from W/A. They MIGHT have one by the end of July. Put your orders in early!

Got the tank pressure checked and installed. Quality was OK, welding was leak free. Just remember about a 6 month lead time to get one.
