I'd just replace and not re-pitch the prop. Gotta have a spare.

Why not Rob? 7443 is better for some altitudes.

Because the 7445 is only made in very small batches by Sensenich, so I believe they are "relatively" hard to come by on the market. It's a good all-round prop but I do agree with you that finer pitch may well help for some altitudes.

I had ownership of a mid-air collision prop-strike-damaged 7445 repaired and certified for my stroker C-85 (it had been hanging above the incident pilot's fireplace for years) but at least we found it a new engine (& Taylorcraft) to propel. (both pilots survived). The replacement 7445 that the insurance paid for I was able to sell for > purchase price.

I have both a Sensenich and McCauley 74” props, never flew the Mac, but the Sensenich would cruise 104 kts at 2650 rpm’s and climb 8-1100 fpm to 8k msl

The 1B90 7445 is a great do all prop. I ended up re-pitching mine when I had the A65 to a 7442. I enjoyed the prop much more and didn't feel I really gave up much for speed.
