  • I wasn't looking to debate the merits of which carburetor. Just simply stating in my case, I am enjoying the marvel carb more than the stromberg I had previously. That said, I would not have replaced the stromberg on my A65. The only reason I replaced it on the C85 was because I needed a carb and elected...

    A65 Core Value?

I am getting ready to list my A65 engine, but am not sure what a core value is. It has approx 1,400hrs when pulled and needs the accessory case rebuilt. No accessories but it does have the prop hub and a nice oil tank. Any help on value is appreciated.

  • For what it's worth, core value for the Stromberg is about $300 when exchanging for a marvel. I was lucky to have a buddy with a marvel core laying around.

Well it took three and a half months but N96234 is now re-powered with a zero time C85. Through the process everything firewall forward was replaced/rebuilt/overhauled. Ultimately I ended up with a C85-12 on a short mount, McCauley 1B90 7148, Luscombe 8E Exhaust, Marvel carb, Bendix mags, shielded ignition...

  • McCauley 1B90 74-42 Climb Prop

I have a McCauley 1b90 7442 prop for sale. It has 829.5 hours on it since new and I have logs. The prop started as a 74-45 but was re-pitched to 42 this April with only 3 hours on it since. Was also recently repainted. Prop is in excellent condition and was only pulled for a C85 upgrade. I am asking...
