I robbed this from the internet, I would like to keep it on here for historical reasons.

Excellent example. wheelpants are postwar though, should have the standing riveted seam.

Pre war weren't riveted, nor welded. One side had a 90° flange, and the other had a longer 90° flange that wrapped over the first forming a "U", and was crimped down.

my mistake, but they were flanged without chrome strip.

By the way, this airplane was at the Midwest Taylorcraft fly in this past summer.

about 3/8". I should have looked at the wheel pant I had on the shelf before I made my previous post

Sounds good. I just have a set of beat up glass ones and thought if I was going to fix them up I might as well make them look as much like original as I can. They are never going to pass muster with anyone who actually knows Taylorcrafts, but I don't want them to be an embarrassment.

Just hope I don't end up going all anal on them and try making them "perfect". I have a bad habit that way.
