    Taylorcraft was well represented at Oshkosh this year with several winning awards. Congratulations to Scott for his grand champion classic. The Newell's for their BC12D, and 15A. There was another BC12D that won award, and I might be missing another, sorry if I left you out.

        I had a nice bumpy ride for over half my flight home. I dropped Nick off and arrived home with 4.8 hours on the GPS timer.

          It was a pleasure for me to meet Scott again. On the first occasion I dropped by his aeroplane, he was keenly talking to passers-by about his Taylorcraft, so I waited a little.

            Wow that is quite the award, well deserved though, It was a pleasure talking with you Scott Im really impressed that you and your work received such recognition at Oshkosh. Its something that the Taylorcraft can be seen as a classic which it is. Thanks

              I was there for 12 days working in Emergency aircraft Repair. There were at least 16 T-crafts on the field. More than I have ever seen at Oshkosh. There is at least one High school group that restored a BC-12D and are flying it to get their Private. So glad to see that. It seems that T-crafts are staging a comeback in interest and maybe price.

              The Forum was well attended. Again what I found most incourageing was the interest by younger people in the T-craft.

              Next year is the 75th year of the BC-12 D. I am not sure how they calculate that but there is a movement to have a few rows reserved for T-craft. I am always there early and if this is a special year will take by BC-12D . I can help with making sure there is a spot reserved.

                Thanks Laz. I believe it's the 75th of the BC-12D Type Certificate next year (that's a good enough excuse in my book!)

                Mark Bowden of this parish is in touch with VAA on the matter of persuading enough Taylorcraft pilots to fly in to book a whole row on the flight line.

                I attended the Forum at the VAA venue, and although the host did a good job, I thought it completely unsuitable to the audience. We (the Taylorcraft fraternity) need to take the VAA/EAA forum back from the Hartford / Krog lot.

                I would be happy to volunteer to be the host for a proper forum next year, where we talk about ownership and piloting and maintenance issues. But it would need to be under the auspices of Taylorcraft owners & pilots and maintainers, NOT the foundation or some "owners club" that to me does not exist.

                I welcome everyone's thoughts on this.

                  Rob, I suspect that your offer to conduct the VAA/EAA taylorcraft forum would be welcomed regardless of what group title it is held under.

                    I would think Rob would be the best fit for the job, especially someone known as " Ambassador of Taylorcraftness", I am trying hard to get me BC12-D going by the end of fall in the South, so maybe a flight to OSH might happen for me next year, gary

                      I would certainly be willing to participate in representing Taylorcraft next year if things materialize by bringing my airplane, being a member of VAA which Im not would probably have some clout in the matter though.

                        Well I could be convinced. maybe I cold do a mockup of the fuel system on an uncovered fuselage? Or I could just fly my airplane! It would also be nice to hit up the people who have Taylorcrafts that go to OSH to becoming members of the forum if they are not already. I have gotten several calls from non members looking for parts, which I do not have a lot of but it seems they are reading the forum and not joining.

                            I have no pride of authorship and will be glad to help anyone in any way I can. I just think the T-craft deserves its due. As far as the forum goes, it does leave a lot to be desired. I detected that what is really needed is someone to pitch the virtues of the T-craft to new attendees. Most people on this forum have 90% of the Info they need. There were a few new people just desperately looking for info o why to own a Taylorcraft. Once again any way I can help I will.
