Yes Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019.
It was looking like we weren't in store for a white Christmas until the night before last. Now all is white and all is calm.

YES, Merry Christmas, 50 years ago today Apollo 8 was sitting on the moon, took the first photo of Earth rise, read out of Genesis 2, that part would probably not be allowed today

Gary, (LostnSpace), There were a LOT of people in NASA and in government who were pretty upset when they read Genesis in orbit. The vast majority thought is was one of the most inspirational moments in American history. Amazing how so many had to hear the tiny number of negative voices drowning out the millions who were in silent awe. The photo of Earth Rise and the recording of the reading of Genesis from lunar orbit are among my best memories. The whining and complaining of the few have long since faded away. Merry Christmas to all on the good Earth!

                    Hank

Astonishing to realize that those spacecraft had less computing power than the devices we use to access this site.

Yes much has changed... as we look forward to 2019, let's hope our rights to both pray, and yes whine, in the manner we choose continues to evolve positively.

Merry Christmas to everyone!!! Still not much snow in Northwest Montana....but lots of ice!! We usually take a team of horses and a sled and pull "Santa" in for the boys at the local drug and alcohol treatment center on Christmas Eve..this year it's just too slick to use the horses. Hopefully they still had a good time using a tractor!
