brake options please

I am considering putting my NON Cert T-craft back on wheels for next summer BUT
it needs brakes of some sort, reasonably priced of course.
Prefer not to go hydrolic because of the added necessities inside the cabin, in other words would like to use existing pedals & cable.
Is there a brake option using Taylorcrafts unusual axle & wheel arrangement.

No it's not Certified so options are open
& no the originals don't provide adequate slow up power or even hold power.

Grove brakes. They are hydraulic, but you can install a pull type master cylinder in the gear leg or under the floorboard. Use the same pedals and cable.

I called Grove a couple months ago and it was a $3500 upgrade.

I could do it for a lot less, pull cylinders mounted to the landing gear and attached to the heel brake cables to get your hydraulics and then a bolt on adapter for the wheels. I would run cheap single piston 6" wheels and you would be into it about $500 Tim

Sounds reasonable.
I get confused when i looked in A/S catalog
Would it be possible to point me at the correct brake system?
Is this bolt on adapter also available at A/S/

Those would be ebay parts for the wheels and master cylinders, Matcos might cost some more but would be new, Call atlee dodge and see what they have for adapter bushings. I am one to piece things together and take years to do it, I also know people with a lathe so that makes it easier for me. You can also call grove and just get the adapters without the wheels or masters. Tim

I just got done with a four hour job replacing the expander linings on the right side. What a nightmare, I did the left on Friday and it turned out kinda ok, a little draggy but it'll work in just fine. This right side is way different. I'm going to start saving up parts and switch over this winter.

I sure like the larger peddles! Those tiny ones really kill your feet when you have on soft sole shoes.

believe it or not I welded that with the plane together, the ears I welded to a half tube and then to the airframe with a tig . My feet never slip off the peddles , if you look at the bottom there is a access cover to get at to weld and inspect .

I used atlee Dodge 1 1/2 inch PA-18 axles that I cut off broken gear and slipped over the T-craft axle, and then welded the flange to flange. Also cut the T-craft off and made a sleeve for the inside and welded it . Works perfect .
