    Re: Taylorcraft Blue Prints

That's what I had originally planned. Just so folks know, depending on the size of the prints, they usually are not cheap to copy. When I get them in hand we will get a list and a plan together and try to accommodate both methods of sharing.

Just goto Kinkos, I did it with some J5 blueprints. Cost was less than 20 each. Tim

Yep, when I get them I will see what all is there and compare them mot ones I currently have and try to get all of them put on digital format so they can be put on here for everyone. At the same time I will try to get a list of everyone who wants paper copies and do them all at once. The nearest kinko's or anything like that is almost 100 miles from me.....however I can talk to the construction company my dad works for and see if they will let me copy them there since they have a copier for their construction plans. I will look into it.

Awhile back, I think forum member Acroeric had all the swick drawings up on the internet somewhere. Does anyone know?

I think it was Cole instead of Swick. Some people in Michigan had purchased the rights to the Swick stuff and was going to produce kits. I think it should be cleared with them before offering it up on the open market.

Yep, I know....I had planned on asking before I did. Of course anything would be marked copy and for reference only.

                    Re: Taylorcraft Blue Prints

Some documents can't even be shared when marked. I have an almost complete set of the Taylorcraft newsletters and Virginia Carolina Taylorcraft newsletters. Getting permission to publicly post them was a NIGHTMARE! The really old ones were not a problem, but the more recent ones had some copyright issues. I plan to start scanning ALL of them and releasing those we can as soon as we have a "home" and permission. We will also be looking for the ones that are missing to get a full set, plus asking anyone who has better copies of some that are in poor condition to allow copies of theirs so the database will be as complete and high quality as possible.
It is stupid in some ways, but be very careful before you publicly release papers to be sure there isn't someone somewhere who "owns" them. Be REALLY careful before you make any money with them! I found out that making ANY profit on some papers can get you in BIG trouble! Even getting money to cover POSTAGE was challenged. I was lucky, I could prove I actually LOST money giving them out.

I have access to a scanner at my office that can handle an original up to 36 inches wide. I'd be willing to scan the sheets for the forum.

Maybe we could set up a fund to cover scanning costs. I would be willing to pitch in some $$$. Electronic copies seem so much easier to manage in this global world we live in today.

I think a lot is pending what Forrest does with the foundation. We have been pretty consumed here with rotten weather lately.

I think you are right. We need to keep a goal in mind to find a home for ALL of the data that has been gathered. Right now Forrest is the "index". If we loose him we will have a real mess reconstructing it without him.
