Would you mind providing a link to that AC. I found one that said no Velcro as the sole means of mounting, but there was no mention of not using Adel clamps.

Did it have documented ELT installation previously?

Now one more thing (like there is only ONE more thing). Any suggestions for an ELT. Need to get that mounted before I close up fuselage.

I will echo that. There are places the headliner will need to be glued down where aircraft fabric goes. It would not be structurally sound to glue the aircraft fabric to the headliner.

You have to do both first. ;-)

If you put the headliner in first the job is easy, but when you put the fabric on you will probably get dope on the headliner and REALLY screw it up.

If you cover first then put the headliner in you will need to hire a couple of contortionists and at least one "little person" unless you want to spend some SERIOUS time with the chiropractor afterwards.

I have done it both ways and on the 45 I intend to put the headliner in first, but NOT permanently. I will use hooks, VELCRO and lacing to put it in and get it perfect, then remove it and cover the plane. I plan to take it in and out several times while working on the plane to make sure any zippers are in the right place and everything can be reached while I can still reach everything from outside if needed.

If you do this make SURE you always take the headliner in and out using ONLY holes that will be available after covering! I am hoping to make it easy enough to pull the headliner for annuals and maintenance. Being able to un-snap or pop the VELCRO off and lift the back of the headliner out of the way to work on the aileron cables or trim system would be SUCH a blessing! I REALLY don't want to open up that cover hole in the roof to reach the trim handle, indicator and pulley up front.

Still rebuilding N94978; Getting ready to cover fuselage. Do I put headliner (bot from Univaire or A/C spruce sometime ago) before any covering? H/liner has zippers in it; is it like pulling teeth to get aileron cables after headliner is in. Any comments will be appreciagted. Lee

I have a full set (wing and rudder) of lights I just removed when I converted to L.E.D. NAV/ACL's. PM me if you're interested?

It would be helpful if you could let people know what style of light you are looking for. Maybe you could find a picture of the style to post.

edited to add pictures. I know the cast lights were used pre war, but I'm not sure about post war. The other were used later, but I'm not sure when they started using them.

I used about 1/2" thick fiberglass insulation in my doors, but I fly in the winter. Tim
