Re: Wanted to cut out on landing
Be VERY careful of tightening the fasteners to stop weeping around the edges. First, the joint weeps. It is NORMAL! An old timer who was around when they did it said they changed the color of the carbs to hide the fuel stains from the separation joint weeping. It shouldn't DRIP, but weeping is normal.
The reason most drip is someone tried to tighten the fasteners to stop the weeping and warped the castings. There is a specified torque for the fasteners. Same problem with the mixture (on the carbs with mixture). Ham fisted ape mechanics over tightening the fasteners is one of the big problems with these carbs.
