My 18 year old daughter, Artemesia, soloed our 1940 BC-65 yesterday at MD45, my family's farm strip in Maryland. Her instructor is Jeremy DeBons, a navy instructor pilot based at Patuxent River. I soloed a 1940 BC-65 in 1981 at age 16, my instructor was also a navy pilot based at Pax named Jerry Robinette.
She plans to continue to complete her private and then go from there. 80 years old and the Tcraft is still working hard teaching people to fly.

Thanks Mike and Hank. Robert, no it's not. I was living abroad with no definite return date and my dad decided to sell the one I soloed due to his age and lack of use. N26633 is still based at 2W6, just a couple of miles from MD45 and i asked the owner if he would sell it back to me. We almost had a deal and he decided to keep her. I looked for quite a while to find the exact model that was all original, the same as dad's was. N27619, shown in the picture was in the Civilian Pilot Training Program and was professionally restored in the early 90s. All the original gauges, yokes and mag switch were retained. She was featured in the EAA Vintage magazine in 1997.
this might be a bit more info than you wanted but the history in interesting. The attachment is part of the package i received when i bought her and came from Tom Macario.

Congrats! That grass strip looks inviting, I was a helicopter CFI based at Bay Bridge Airport about two decades ago and probably buzzed over your farm once or twice. Beautiful area.
