  • Unshielded ignition ends

I got a call from one of the Tribe who is looking for the cigarettes from unshielded ignition leads. Several places can supply the end piece that goes into the Mag and the wires are pretty easy to get, but we are having trouble getting the piece that actually attaches to the end of the spark plug.
If anyone has any old plug leads for unshielded plugs, or knows a source for the end fittings please drop me a PM. There are a bunch of us who would really like to get rid of the bumps on the top cowls of our planes.

Hey Mike, got a link to the items?
Their catalog doesn't appear to be very user friendly on line.

          Hank,

Did not know that Fresno was even in the computer age. They are listed on the inner page of trade-a-plane. Seems like they were $10-12$ ea.

Apparently Fresno now take Paypal, which if true helps.

Either they are not fully in the computer age or I'm not (hold back the laughs) but I can't find the parts in their on line catalog. It is about as well organized as my tool box. I may need to just phone them tomorrow. Had dealings with them in the past and they were great. Can't fault them if their site isn't the greatest. I don't even HAVE one!

                  Hi folks,
I cannot find the unshielded ignition ends under AN 661. Does anyone know another name for them?
                  Thanks!

Was over at Fresno Airparts a few weeks ago and they had the AN ends and the Rajah terminals if you wanted those.

                          Re: Unshielded ignition ends

Mine are set up and working well except for the radio noise. I have shielded plugs on the bottom and un-shielded on top. I need to find the fourth Erocoupe cup to put over the plugs to see if I can get the ignition noise down.

It may not be easy to find, Hank, but the back cover for the A-7 mag switch seemed to help my set-up.
                            Cheers,

Starting with the cups, then adding a metal cup over the mag switch (already have the shielded mag wires) with shielding over the leads to the plug last.

                              Hank

One step at a time to see which has the largest effect.
