Need help with L2 bungees

Does anyone have an L2 bungee installation tool that could be borrowed or know of someone with the tool that could install them for me? They are giving me a fit and I have already destroyed two of them at $56 each. I do understand how to do it and successfully installed them before. 20 years ago I build a jig on a 2 by 8 with a come along and installed them, but it doesn't do the job anymore. Also, has anyone used bungees other than the 11104 specified type? Is there any documentation for an alternate type? For the BC12D drivers out there, the L2 bungees are completely different and need a different tool.
Covering of my L2 is now complete. I just have to put it all together.

This week I made a discovery that should help me get the bungees on. About 2 months ago I ordered 4 11104 bungees from Aircraft Spruce for my project. I tried to install them using the same jig set up that I had used several years ago. With lots of help and difficulty I was able to install one bungee. I destroyed two more trying and gave up. Now I'm at the point where I need to install the landing gear, so I ordered two more 11104 bungees. Guess what. They are a larger diameter that the first batch they sent me! I'm pretty sure I can install them. Now I need to see if I can get a refund from Spruce.

I mean thats true, but I suspect my tool would cost over $100 each way just to ship. Its almost 5 feet long and roughly 30-40 pounds.

Disregard my last post where I said I got the wrong sized bungees. That is the way they looked when I first compared them in the packages. Yesterday I compared and measured them more closely and both the first and second orders appear size. back to square one on trying to get them installed.

Bungees are interesting as I found out the hard way but after further research I now understand their design. Up north I found out that the cold weather bungees (CW) make a big difference when used on skis. Read the attached true story I wrote after a flying incident.

Here is a sketch of a tool I made in 1969 for my L2. It is made from a bumper jack from a 1960's chevy. Simple and safe.
