  • ORIGINAL Big round tach with oil press.and temp.

Old. BIG TACH. Everything works! All original, plus non sensetive Altimeter and the proper A/s indicator All can be mounted in an original panel. I can also make a copy of the original formed panel overlay, but its gonna cost ya! Also have running A-40 w/prop. Another fresh looking A40 I got from Forrest ( who knows what its insides are like) My A model is currently wearing a low time A-65 with a fresh boot and open cowling., Lots of pre war wing stuff. Someone that knows what it is needs to get this stuff before I die. 405-808-6683

It would be incredible to pursue this, but alas, I only have two kidneys to sell...

Ok, for all you looking for pictures of the assembly of a big tach with oil temp and oil pressure. Here you go. Word of caution here; I do not recommend attempt disassembly. Pictures provided for entertainment value only. The meter connections to the bourdon tubes are very delicate as well as the tach spring-shaft assembly. High Risk of permanent damage and loss of calibration! Removal of the glass from front cover very risky. Note the staked points in the front cover. Probably a find another good cover kind of repair if yours is damaged.
I purchased this assembly knowing it needed attention when I got it. Guarantee of serviceability not provided.

Satisfy your curiosity with Brent's pictures! You would NOT want to break that glass or mess up those delicate clock works!

You can get a replacement bezel from the antique clock community. When I did my BL I silkscreened the face and the two small plates for the oil temp and pressure. I left the tach and oil pressure alone, but sent the oil temp out for repair.

Great information! Fortunately this one is in good enough to keep as is and all of the gages and tach work.
