    Re: New 1940 BC65 Restoration.

Thanks for the advice on the pic size. Keeping up with hight tech is not my thing, may be that's why I am working on a 73 year old airplane!
I covered the rudder and started on the back side of one door today, see pics
Question, does the fabric on the door need to be stiched?

Remember to change the name of the picture by adding an "s" or something to the end of the name, otherwise you loose the large image and it will be replaced by the small one. If you don't want to keep the large version it doesn't matter.

No need to stich the door. Tom

          Question to the tribe.
I am about to cover the landing gear. Is the top side (where the bungee is) covered or just the bottom?

          Thanks

I have an airplane in the shop and it is covered both sides, and that is what I have done in the past.

My '46 BC-12D landing gear is covered with aluminum. So maybe it doesn't apply. But mine were covered (with aluminum) on the part that faces the inside. It seems like you would want them covered to prevent gradoux from accumulating in the crevices.

                    Question for the group.
I need to know which part of the inside of the cabin gets covered with fabric. I have seen some pictures where the large triangle areas next the the seat is covered. Is that correct and is there other areas that should be covered with fabric on the inside of the cabin. BTW this is a 1940 BC65 model if that helps.
                    Thanks all!

This is a restoration project so yes as close to original as possible. Not sure about being a show plane, we'll see when it is done

In regards to covering the top of the landing gear (under the seat). There is only two sides to glue the fabric on, how is the third side (next to the fuselage attach blots) glued?
Anyone has pictures that would be great.
Also, should there be a piece of finishing tape over the steching wire on the underside of the gear?

                          Thank you all

Yes to the finishing tape over the wire. the fabric goes over the channel brace and the down the gearleg. The airplane in the shop has about 1/2" between the top fabric and where the wire crosses.

Got it about the finishing tape and the fabric down the gear leg but I do not see how the fabric is glues on the top since there has to be an opening for the attach point from the fuselage, any pictures from your ship that is currently in the shop would be geatly appriciated.
                              Thanks is advance
