  • fuel line routing

HI guys, new here and restoring a BC12D will post pictures soon but wondering if any one out there has pics of how and where the fuel lines run(from under panel to wing?)
Looking for nose bowl, grills and cowling if any one has one in good condition if not I guess I will have to fabricate

    Re: fuel line routing

Well the nose bowl can be bought new from Univair, that is the nicest but expensive option. The lower cowling is a compound curve, there is a guy in Indiana that can make them, uppers are easy to make, the hinges are obsolete unless someone found a good source. Tim

      Re: fuel line routing

Hello Fly guy from Cheboygan, and welcome! to your first post.

The fuel lines from the wing tanks usually run down the door pillars and then horizontally along the underside of the instrument panel (via a fuel shut-off valve on each side) before entering the main fuselage tank.

      For example: this picture:

shows how I routed the wing tank lines from the right tank of my 46 BC12D along the wing root to the door pillar and thence down to the fuselage tank. (my shut-off valves are under the instrument panel...your IA may vary).

Is this the sort of picture you are seeking?
      Rob

        Re: fuel line routing

My routing is very similar to Rob's. I chose to put the shutoff valve above the door. The thinking being that if it leaks it won't drain the main tank as well.
Here's a shot of the lower routing (I had to reposition the adel clamps when I installed the instrument panel)
