  • Continental Website Support, Tech Info

This summer I tried to set up an Aviator account so I could register my engine and have access to the manuals, technical support docs and be on the mailing list for service bulletins, etc...

The website would not accept my engine serial number and it won't let you set up an account without validation of the engine. I called support and they said the website was in process of updating and that the old serial numbers would be loaded over time and to try again over time. They were quite helpful.

However it never worked. Another call recently and the tech support guy went through all his online databases and found my serial on at least 4 engines but not my A65. Again quite helpful support. In the meantime he emailed the latest A & C series manuals. They may still find it at some point.

I sent in photo of data plate via email support and asked if they could set up an account and send me the login info. They did do this and I have access to tech docs and A & C series manuals.

So if you try and set up an account and it doesn't work it is that our vintage serials are being lost to time which is not surprising. But they will work with you to get you access. Helpful support each time.

Thanks, Mark, good information. A phone number or e-mail address, name of tech support guy, etc., would be helpful including a link to the registration process. Thanks!
    Cheers,

I'm sorry I don't have a name for the phone, should have noted it. Spoke with two, the most recent was the one who went through all his online databases for a serial search. Thought was if I could be found then it could be sent to IT to allow me to create an account. He was really helpful even though I'm a "legacy" product and both know the reality of old data. Emailed me the manuals while he was on the phone. I'll try and get my Conti manual collection posted this weekend.

Note, your serial is not unique, it can be used on other engine models.

Both the call guys were Americans and likely at Mobile, AL offices. The fist IT support reply was not so prompt and was a Chinese name but worked ok and quickly with email after the first reply back to me. So far it appears the new Chinese owners are keeping the phone support in USA.

I'd call again, can't hurt. With the account they gave me I can't update my account to register, it just gives me access to the models I'm associated with. If you register with an 0-200 you don't get the other engine manuals.

            Hi,
Those docs are great and I use them as a resource, thanks!! I have a collection of various iterations on the manuals over time too, which are interesting from a historical perspective (need to post them).

The other main advantage of registering as an owner is that they can send you AD's, SB's and you have access to revisions as they are issued etc... It is a nice and rare customer support offering you don't find often.

I'm guessing you are only seeing the top 10 post or something like that.

Go to the top of the page and click on "forum". Scroll down to the second section that says, "Taylorcraft technical topics". The second one down is "reference documents".
