  • Taylorcraft gone again

If you look at landing this morning there is an article in the Brownville Herald about the chaining of the fence around the Taylocraft plant. Dick

Thanks for posting the info Dick. At this point, I think everyone expected this outcome. It was just a matter of when. I feel truly sorry for all the Tcraft owners left high and dry, but in the long run you'll be better off with him out of the picture.

Well it seems like I will need to find an alternate heat muff for the Lyc 0-235 for the F21s and my F22. Any Ideas?

Unfortunatley another dismal end to the all to familiar life of the Taylorcraft factory and its history.

I know it's an old joke by now, but I once remarked that when I wrote THE TAYLORCRAFT STORY I should have numbered each chapter "Chapter 11".

Chet, there's been enough going on with this latest attempt that you could write a sequel.

It is really unfortunate that no-one can seem to make a good run at it. I still think that if someone just made parts to support the fleet and concentrated on the new LSA version they would do well. I guess we just all have to perfect our "owner produced" skills.

Craig, what should the title of a sequel be? Lets have a contest!

I had come up with something similar to #4. That's got my vote.

I've read Chet's book, and we all know the story in Texas, but the chapter I'm missing, is why did the Ferris's no longer keep Taylorcraft?

Charlie went west in April 1976 , so the FERIS kept it going till 1986 and did a great job. The straw that broke the camel's back was the insurance for 1986 that needed an advance payment of $50,000... in Feb.
Dorothy Feris should have NEVER announced a NEW Model without having it ready. The F21B should have been improved and the F-22 never released till all the bugs got worked out. Read my thoughts of the 1991 think tank back in Lock Haven for what needs to be done. I am just back from giving a deposition in a Civil court action in Virginia pertaining to a Taylorcraft. I have been following the story from sources deep south in Texas... THEN we have the fellows already calling about acquiring the TC's and getting things going again. THERE is more to the story in Brownsville, stay tuned. Get ready Chet maybe we need a few more Chapters!
