If you voted for Obama in '08 to prove you're not a racist, vote for someone else in '12 to prove you're not an idiot.

You should have said something Mike. I would have voted for you over either one of them!
        Hank

At least you would have gotten two votes!

Obama is 50% white, so how could voting for him be racist?

                  Re: Pass it on

After the last 4 years and the latest fiscal fiasco and FAA funding debacle

They need to all go away - minus there fat cat medical and retirement plans!!!

Problem is it is all in the Washington Air and Water and all the new people will turn into idiots also.

To say nothing of a nation full of people that do not want to do anything but stand with their hands out instead of working for it.

In the service I had to go to "race relations' classes. While attending one session I heard the best quote - "I am not racist, I hate them all the same" and it was from a black kid.

                    Re: Pass it on

You guys are just terrible! Don't you understand that EVERYONE must pay their fair share of taxes? Some among us don't pay their fair share and that just isn't right.

I would suggest that we all go out and find some poor non-working soul who has to live on food stamps and welfare and give them a hand.

Place that hand snugly around their fat necks and squeeze a few sheckles out of the lay-about loafers who pay NO INCOME TAXES! If half the nation pays NO INCOME TAXES I think we could raise a LOT more money by getting those who only TAKE to pay a little each than to take EVERYTHING from the "rich" people like those fat cats with their own airplanes.

You guys all have airplanes. Any of you feel RICH? I don't know about the rest of you, but I WORKED for what I have and I am danged TIRED of being told I OWE someone who refuses to work ANYTHING. My wife is in Human Resources and when a pan handler would approach her we used to give them a card and tell them to call the number. Someone would PICK THEM UP and take them to a job where they could earn a fair living. They would set them up with assistance to get on their feet so they could be self supporting.
In all the years she passed those cards out we never got ONE SINGLE CALL! NEVER, NOT ONE!
Let them go hungry. When their bellies are empty and it is cold outside maybe they will get the energy up to earn a living and CONTRIBUTE instead of being parasites.
                    Hank

By the way, there ARE people who use welfare to get back on their feet, and I support them, but I have NEVER seen one at the entrance to a shopping mall parking lot or a stop light pan-handling. The politicians enable them and they are bleeding us dry.

Rant over, just a bad day. Back to humor. ;-)

                        Re: Pass it on

I agree completely. I want to help those who want to work. I want to provide support for those who are actually looking for work. We all go through tough times and need a helping hand once in a while. I have offered my hand many times to help someone less fortunate. My wife provided MANY jobs to people in tough times at the manufacturing plant she works at. Workers who we now call friends.
I do feel it is not the federal governments place to do it, it's ours. My problem is I am confronted by people every day who feel they are OWED support and refuse to take ANY job. The floor above my office is a welfare counseling office. It is in my face daily. Businesses here are regularly confronted by surely, demanding, slobs who come in and want us to sign an interview slip to prove they are looking for work. They refuse to even go through the interview and throw tantrums when we won't give them a signature. They only demand the signature so they can get their checks.
The ones who want work do find it. Not necessarily the work they want, but the good ones find work to carry them forward until they can find a job they WANT.
I am just tired of seeing the guy at the traffic light down from my office every day with the sign that says "Will work for food". He is standing in front of a Denny's with a 3' high sign saying "HELP WANTED". I'm MORE tired of seeing people dropping dollars in his box, but at least they are giving it freely from their own pockets and NOT MINE.
Sorry guys, touchy subject for me. I took part time work because of the economy just so I could keep doing the work I love. Now I am doing work I don't love to pay my OWN WAY and hope the politicians will remove their heads from their back sides before we can't do manned space flight any more. I could have taken unemployment, but I WORK FOR WHAT I EARN. I resent Washington taking it from me to give to people too good to work because they can't start as CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
If they want a job, I will help them find one. If they want a hand out instead of a hand up, let them starve or freeze.
                        Hank

We now return you to your regular programming. Good thing this is in rants and raves. Sure isn't anything funny about it.

One of my pet peeves is when I go to the supermarket you see people there with Link cards (food stamps) buying all these prepared foods that for the same money could feed three or four people. I agree with the govenor of Florida that drug testing should be required. I have a CDL and I am required to pass a drug test to make money so I can pay taxes. Whats wrong with this picture????
