  • Tail Brace Wires

What is the preferred method of determining wire tautness? We can put pressure on the horizontal stab and not see any slack on the wires but others say the wires must be tightened so that they move very little when strummed like a guitar.

Tighten them until when strummed they are a low bass note.

Low bass "C" was wot I wus tort.

If you tighten them up more, keep going until something goes "twang". Then back off a bit.

Get everything plumb and square BEFORE you start tightening all of them, then go back the next day and be sure everything is still plumb and square. Things WILL move after you vibrate everything for a while. You don't rig everything just once.
