Re: trim tab link
With a drawing you should be able to make it as an owner produced part. I have one for my 45 that is not mounted if you need dimensions or a drawing and I think there may be some damaged elevators at the airport that might have one. If you get a used one make sure the holes are all snug fits to the bolts. No sense putting extra play into the trim system.

Re: trim tab link
I have more play in the trim tap when I like to have.
It appers what I have to redo the fabric to get to inner workings of the trim system, would it be possible to add a spring in the system to take up the play.
I fly with slight forward pressure to fly level.
In regards to the picture of trim mechanisim shown above: Is it taken from bottom or top of the evelevator.
I dont see the oil hole in the screw!

Re: trim tab link
Speaking of the oil hole for the trim jackscrew, I have a tip for you all.
Everytime I check my oil, I take the dipstick and touch it to the oil hole on the elevator before I wipe it off to check the oil. It only takes a second, and when I taxi for takeoff, I crank the trim a few turns in each direction to feed the oil droplet into the sleeve where the screw rides.
No more pliers, wrenches and cussing trying to free up a stubborn shaft.John 3728T
