aileron Brackets

The center aileron brackets on my BC12D has a lot of play. The tube and the 2 pins..What are these called and where might I get replacements.

1. One end of the rod that attaches to the bellcrank and the other end attaches to the hinge in the aileron bay. On this rod there are adjustment screws on each end...what are they for.
2. The bolts that go to the hinge bracket do not have a nut in the end because there is no room to install the nut and cotter pin. All it has is a washer and cotter pin. Is this legal or do I need a longer bolt?

Its not safe and is not legal, do not fly like that.

Take a close look and see if you had swapped ends if the bolt on the other end would be long enough.

Are you working with an A&P?

The bolts that I was mentioning about are to short to put a nut on and then put a cotter key. That's why there's a washer and cotter pin. Do you know if there are different size bolts that are used on the tcraft. I notice the tcraft parts company has a picture of the bolt and they call it a long bolt.

Sal, I meant swap the ends of the rod. Is the bolt on the belcrank end perhaps longer? Even too long? Perhaps then the rod was installed "backwards and if you swap ends it will fit ok.

That bolt usually was just long enough to accomodate a nut and a washer.

Take a picture and post if you want more advice.

Also they are not really bolts they are ball ends and the ball goes inside the rod. There are 2 lengths, the front one is shorter, the rear is longer as I recall.

You may have the correct ball ends and the wrong or deformed bracket. Put up a picture of that.

The play can be adjusted out by removing the cotter pins, tightening the end caps, the rekeying.
