You know what they say about Alaska, 90% of the population flys light planes and 70% have FAA permission.
Sounding more and more like our kind of people. ;-)
PS
Think we could all get on the list to get in her TFRs? We may all be nuts, but we sure wouldn't be a threat.
Man, I LOVED my 1903a3. Unfortunatly my "uncle" felt he should keep her when I left the service. What a sniper rifle! Always been happy I never had to fire her in anger. What a beautiful piece of kit.

Wow, that was over 30 years ago, and when I close my eyes I can still smell the gun oil and and feel the wood stock. I remember "tweaking" the upper and lower stocks to get rid of that little "clicking" noise when they tapped each other. Never did get to try an M-84 scope, but then again, you could drill one round into the back of the last with just the iron sight once it was set up right.
All in all she sounds like a gem.
Now if I could just get past that "Piper" part. If it was a Taylorcraft I would be totally sold! WHAT was she THINKING!

If the Palins switched to a Taylorcraft, they would have to rename their daughter Piper who,I believe, was born after they acquired their Super Cub. Taylorcraft Palin? Hmm... I don't know if the kid would like the name change.

Just another day in Palin Land...! Since I had only hip boots on, I let my friend Steve (A new Commercial/CFII) hop off the floats of the plane to untangle this Coho (Silver Salmon) from the grass. The link below this picture shows him in the water next to the plane. We were fishing in the Big
River Lakes area.
Is that a recent picture? The silvers I've been catching lately have had more color than that beautiful 'dime bright' silver. Maybe I need to head over to Big River Lakes!
