Thanks to supporting documents from Walter Whake, I was able to get a 337 approved by the Portland FSDO to replace the fabric over my wing tanks with sheet aluminum. If anyone is interested, I will be glad to share a copy. It is basically the same as what Walter did. My 337 just goes into more detail and has more drawings.

Re: Aluminum Covers for Wing Tanks
Richard,
Can you scan and load your 337 onto this site? I remember a section specifically for 337's. Perhaps another member can enlighten us as to where it resides. I am very interested in getting a copy of your 337. Mike Cushway, PO Box 51, Lake Mills, WI., 53551MIKE CUSHWAY

Re: Aluminum Covers for Wing Tanks
Walt also sent me his 337. I am almost finished with mine. It enabled me to get approval without any problem. Also, finished product looks real good and really makes opening and inspection easy. So here's a real SHOUT OUT TO WALTER--THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP OTHERS!!

Re: Aluminum Covers for Wing Tanks
No doubt about it! Walter is "da man". I could not have gotten my approval without his drawings and 337 form. Thanks again Walter!
Attached are shrunk down versions of each page of the 337. There are a total of two pages for the form and five pages of drawings.
I could only attach 6 files to this message, so be sure to get the last one on the next message.Richard Pearson

Re: Aluminum Covers for Wing Tanks
If you ever have a leaky wing tank, it makes removal and reinstallation a LOT easier. Also you can do the wing spar inspection at annual a lot easier.
I have created a zip file with each page of the 337. If someone wants a copy of it, PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you. Unfortunately it is just slightly to large to post on this site. It is 1.21MB.Richard Pearson

I will take the camera with me next time I go to the airport. May be a couple of days.
Also, thanks to Rob Lees, the file with the 337 is posted on the Technical Resources page of the Foundations website.Richard Pearson
