Anyone know the best place to buy a new windshield for a 46 BC12D? Also what should I expect to pay?

I believe there are only two manufacturers.
    L P and a west coast company Cee Bailey's.
    LP runs $170.00 to $190.00
I replaced my with a LP 3 years ago. Had to cut about an 1'' off the bottom and a little off each side.
Not a big job but took most of the day.
Any supply house carrys the LP brand. I think the Cee Bailey's only sells direct.
They are listed in TradeAPlane. WWW.ceebaileys.com

        Wayne,

I just bought a wind screen(actually 2) from Aircraft spruce. They will cost about $170 apiece; however, Aircraft spruce can have them shipped via ups ground which will save you a bunch on freight charges.
        Best Regards

Thanks to all, I like the UPS shipping idea. That could save some money.

I have a 1945 BC12D S/N 6628. I am thinking about replacing the windshield. Aircraft Spruce offers windscreens for 1946 and later. can anyone tell me the difference between a '45 and a '46 windshield or where I can find a '45 windshield. Does any one know the the thickness of the plexiglass.

Aircraft spuce and Univare are selling windscreens for 175.00 + - .
The lowest price of all windscreens listed.
Both companies are good to deal with.

'45 is the same as a '46 and '41 Deluxe, they all use the post war boot cowl. They all originally used that later style instrument panel.

                          Wayne,

Do you recall how much you paid for the windshield you bought from CeeBaily's? I looked at their website, but didn't see any listing for Taylorcraft.
