    Re: Windshield

    Bill,

I was taking my wing tanks out today and saw a sticker on the lower right corner of my windshield. It was from the place you mentioned in Los Alamitos. It is good to know they are still in business.

It was good meeting you at the fly-in. I hope you can make Mc Minnville in Aug.

      Re: Windshield

I had mine shipped for 230.00 form Ceebaileys, it fit perfect with some trimming, I had the LP crack when I flew through a rain cloud, not enough clearance molded into it....it was hitting the welded hoops where the wing attach fitting mounted. Most are .125 Acrlyic....Tim

          Re: Windshield

I got mine from Cee Bailey's via A/S. But I had to pay $90 shipping. Don't know how you others got it UPS
It was a little long so I trim the bottom to fit. I used a air driven grinder turning a 3 inch carbide cutoff disk. Worked better than using a bandsaw.
Remember when drilling the holes ALWAYS have it flat and supported!! Drilled the holes 5/16 inch on the side and 1/4 inch on top. Had to redo the leading edge fairings because the old ones left too much of a gap with new windscreen/windshield.

Judy in CA is really good people!! I've been dealing with her for years, and in absolutely NO case, have I ever had better customer service anywhere else! She had a windshield for a Champ sent to me one time, that had a bit of a "wave" in one side, so I called her and told her about it.... next afternoon another one showed up FEDEX!!!! You don't find people that will stand behind their product like that much anymore.

              Re: Windshield

The windscreen on my '45 BC12d has scratches I tried to remove a few of them, ended up with some distortion, decided to give up. so I ordered a new windscreen from Aircraft Spruce. The price is $165 plus $110 for shipping by truck from PA to FL. Should get it in a couple of weeks. I replaced the windscreen in my Sundowner about three years ago, it was a project cleaning the residue from the old windscreen and fitting the new one. I sure hope this one goes a little easier. I will add pictures as I install it.

OOPS works good for removing the protective covering on the windows or windshield, you can get at wally world. I just started my annual and I used johnsons turtle wax to clean the window, It looks like new now....Tim
