  • Taylorcraft to Oshkosh

There's me thinking on how to get a collection of Taylorcraft to park up together at Oshkosh, and I reckon the easiest way is to get everyone landing in trail.

So the proposal is to depart Brodhead, Wis (C37), on Sunday 27th July, with probably a refuelling stop at Hartford (HXF).

So far we have the following showing an interest:

    Me in a Taylorcraft
    Jim Z in a Taylorcraft
    Eric Richardson in a Taylorcraft
    Joel in a Taylorcraft

Plus a couple of non-Taylorcraft interlopers:

    1932 Fairchild (non-radio)
Waco YKS-7 Cabin Standard (prob non-radio too)

    Any more takers?

    Rob

I'd like to be included. My '38 is 70 years old & never been to Oshkosh. This is the year to go.

I am planning on it. I just finished a 13 month rebuild, haven't even flown it yet as I still need to do a little "tweeking."

Mine has never been to Oshkosh either, must be time!

That's five Taylorcraft so far, great. I've edited the first post to reflect this.

        Any more for any more?

I'll be there in my 90HP BC12D on Floats....I wouldn't mind camping at the main field this year though...If I can pitch my tent by the Taylorcraft row....I could probably be coaxed into giving a floatplane ride or two to fellow T-Crafters. It's a lovely early morning activity at Airventure.....I highly reccommend it

My partner and I plan to fly up for the week. Unfortunately my DC 65 is farrrr from airworthy, so we will be in the Twin Comanche. From Texas it is still a full day trip. We will be looking for the T-craft swarm in the infield... and look forward to meeting yo all....

Rob: Do you think we can get any preferred parking for the group or will we be in the "back 40?"

I might be in if I can get her back together by then.

Carl, we'll be in the Vintage & Classic camping area, adjacent to 18/36, between airshow centre and the ultralights.

I'm going this year, but I'm hoping to take a Mooney that I have been restoring for some time now. (original M20, no letters.....)

Sorry, I won't be flying, but I will be at Brodhead and at Author's Corner in Oshkosh, the whole week. Hope you will all drop by and say hello.
Did get my DC-65 in the air yesterday, after a winter rest. I was a little rusty, but the landing was a no-bouncer.

                          Chet,

When and how long will you be at Brodhead?

                          Group,

Are the rest of you just stopping or overnighting at Brodhead? I'd like to meet you all.
