  • Nose tank and ventral fin required

I had ordered both from the factory during the early months of the summer
    however nothing ever showed up.

Is the factory closed.............AGAIN, and would any of you fine persons
have what I am looking for?

Wag Aero has nose tanks, there was a vertical fin on ebay.

THAT is ventral fin he needs , SOMEONE OUT THERE has the one borrowed from the Foundation about four years ago. He has a Experimential Taylorcraft, if I were him I would just make one.

Wag aero does have a nose tank so I will probably order from them. I just hope it is the lighter aluminum tank.

And Forest you are correct that I have an Experimental and I will build the
ventral fin if I don't find one before springtime.

I can get you a tracing for the size, OR does any body have a photo of one out there.

I think I have a copy of the drawing for the ventral fin now that you mention it. Yea, I do, but the question is , where is it now? Probably in my hanger at
the cottage burried in snow. If I don't find it in the garage tonight that is where it is. Just as well because I would need to use the physical aircraft
mounting points for the ventral fin in order to do this.

So, the Aeromatic is useless on the C90 then? Maybe the way to solve my problem is to buy my neighbours 185 Skywagon with 300 HP.

For the rest of the tribe, Robert has a very unique airplane, I do believe I sent those drawings many moons ago. I will look for mine again too! The ventral attaches aft at the tail wheel bracket and forward at a cross tube. It was really only necessary for the pre war ships with the reduced fixed vertical surface aft of CG. ( fin) . Kept the ship from swapping ends on floats in the air. Known as yaw stability tests.

My plane feels very unstable on floats and the turns are all spooky . I have
250hrs on this and wish to correct the issue. If I turn the aircraft left or right the plane wants to continue to turn in that direction to the point where I WOULD eventually enter a spin . I have to hold opposite controls to maintain any desired turn. Feels like a slipping turn then, just not right . I'm
hoping the ventral fin will help.

If you all remember I DID enter a spin during slow flight, and it was not intentional. I would never have gotten out of the spin without the use of power. I don't want to repeat this ever again .

I've spent the last hour-and-a-bit trying to find the glossy photos of C-FAJH on floats that Robert sent me many moons ago, and I have failed miserably, but I will find them one day. Perhaps Robert will post a photo of his lovely 'plane.

Don't call him a Newfie; he objects!

For the avoidance of doubt, the ventral fin is UNDER the belly (think:dolphin /porpoise dorsal/ventral fins).

If this is the one that mounts on the bottom aft ( ventral fin ) then yes that is the one I have been trying to find and I would be happy to take if off your hands. I can give you a call if you forward your phone number.

I bought a Wag Aero tank about a month ago. Nice tank.

I have an aluminum tank that came out of my plane during annual. The pipe thead bung in the bottom was cracked. I am having a new one welded in next week and then tank is good for service again.

I plan to put it on ebay at that time unless you'd like to buy it.

                            Hi Rob,
nice to be back, and glad to see I haven't totally been forgotten.
I just uploaded a picture of my T as an avatar. Hey, Robert, I just realized
I was in your neighbourhood in Nov. Me and the family spent a week in the
West end of London. Also there is a cheap charter from Gatwick to Deer Lake
Newfoundland all winter long. Deer Lake is like 20 minutes from my door. Come on over and ski for a week and I'll put you up. Honestly, I think the
charter is like 500 Can which is half in your currency.

                            Cheers!

There "THAT WAS EASY" ..... or set a price or trade for stuff; and ship the ventral to the Foundation, we can jig it and have a part for other members. Robert will be the first. thanks Forrest
