Shop labor is up to 80$ a hr at most shops. Its anywhere from 600 to 800 here if everything is fine.
Try Jim Herrick in Nikiski. He's been around a long time and is very reasonable.

$100 for the TCraft and $200 for the Stinson (complex).
I do ALL the work. He's a great IA, knows tube and fabric airplanes, and he's very thorough (former TCraft owner). That being said....he doesn't make his living at it, and has no desire for new business.

        John,
You are correct, all the maintenance documents can be on a piece of scrap paper, napkin, etc,,,. Like I said in my previous post all you need to consider is how to convince the jury you did properly, and scraps of paper stapled in a log book won't do it. Complete and accurate log books will help both the owner and maintenance people, and the value of the airplane when it is up for sale. To each his own.......

I personally I feel it would be silly to drain and reuse any oili in an airplane engine especially one that only holds 4 qts.....just my humble opinion

Manu Sina is getting her annual right now, and it is costing me 150 dollars. The guy who is doing it knows the ship very well, he was present when she she was taken ALL the way down, completely corrosion treated, had new wings built, and had a total rebuild on her engine nine years ago. She sat for six years in a West Texas Hanger before I bought her, and no one knows that bird better than he does. Brie

I paid $750 for mine and he did all of the work himself.

                Mike,
Can I just "buy the log book entry"?

                    A&E ? You're dating yourself...

My IA generally charges $2 per horsepower for non-complex airplanes.

Re: What did you pay for your last annual?

Don't laugh. That is EXACTLY what I requested, AND GOT from my IA while I was rebuilding my 45 at Hampton Roads Airport. The airport manager was trying to get rid of all the EAA homebuilders and old plane restorers. He wanted to sell more fuel. Since he couldn't throw us out (our planes WERE regestered and had taxes paid) he decided to get rid of us because our planes "weren't safe" and added a requirement for a yearly annual. I went to my IA and asked for one, and got it. Nothing in the lease said I had to PASS the annual!
The airport has since changed hands but the funny thing is, they STILL don't sell the fuel we need and most of us moved to Suffolk (SFQ) airport where we can get auto fuel that is tested by the managers.
GREAT airport. IF you are flying down the east coast, SFQ is a wonderful place to stop (and the fuel is about the same cost as what you get from the local service station).

                      Good food on site too.
