STC for 0-200 in Tcraft...

I have been trying to find a STC for a 0-200 install in a BC12D. I have found where two LSTCs have been done in Canada but the trail stops there. I cannot find who did the paperwork. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The model 19 stc by Harer is what most people use. Do a search on here for more info. Tim

If you have the Harer STC you can install an O-200?

Since it was already done, I never really looked that close.....

Is this true??

I dont have the STC, so I have not personally read it, but that is what a friend used to install one in his '46. Tim

I just pulled out my paperwork and it says.......

Conversion of Model BC and BC12D to BC12D-85 or to BC12D-4-85.

Maybe he got something different or a separate field approval for the O-200? I could see that as there are quite a few mods on my 85 beyond the STC.

There is no mention that I can find of an O-200 on these plans........

I used the Harer STC to install the O-200. It modifies the aircraft to Model 19 also which is a type certificate jump, and then I installed the O-200 per F-19 specs whihc is the same as a Model 19 except for engine installation. Done on a 337.

Since Swick is now back in business, he had a seperate STC to install an O-200. Might trying giving them a call to see if they can help.

Use the Harer STC to install a C-85, then use the other STC to upgrade the 85 to an O-200 crankshaft.

Because the crankshaft STC does not change the model number or data plate on the engine, I think you can make a case that you are still installing "a C-85-12" engine in your plane per the Harer STC.

Or you could do the Harer STC (paperwork) first, then "add" the O-200 crank STC (paperwork) later. Then you can do the work on the airplane all at once.

Actually, there is no other case to be made. The STC to install an O200 crank (and rods and pistons) in a C85 does not alter the designation of the engine and therefore has no impact on the airframe, at least from a regularatory perspective.
