Being a new member I have a few questions and some ideas. I am doing an on going clean up/ extensive annual on N95334. She was born on Aug 30,1946 as a BC-12D.
Idea: The nose grills are so soft and too easy to bend in just touching them, so what I did after spending all evening bending them back to correct shape and making them look evenlwas to sand blast them (walnut shells) and then filled the back side cavity with T-88 epoxy. I embeded small wood sticks (like long tooth picks) in the epoxy. Now after painting them they are stiff and a lot more resistant to bending.
Questions: Where do you obtain the rubber gasket/donut seal the goes around the fuselage tank filler neck?
Does the cover that goes over the inst panel have to be screwed down to the boot cowl up under the windshield. In other words I know it is screwed along the top of the inst panel but when I when I wanted to replace some inst I had to remove the windshield to remove screws along the edge of the windshield frame that were impossible to get to unless the windshield was out.
