Re: rear D window Frame
I have the original 1945 metal frames from mine and I am pretty sure they are the same as the later post war planes. I also have the thin metal pieces that go over it on the outside to hold the transparency in place. How do we get the info distributed?
I also have a 1941 that had WOOD "D" window frames. Someone along the way replaced the originals with cheap pieces of outdoor plywood. I have made some really nice frames based on the holes in the fabric but there is NO WAY to tell if the shapes are right except by looking at photos. After I carved the wood frames (isn't that always the way) someone told me the original frames were laminated by winding thin strips around a form. Does anyone have the correct hole shape and outside shape of the RIGHT pre-war frames? Mine aren't in yet and I could (SOB!) throw away the carved ones and make them right.
Hank
Need to know soon since I was going to install them this weekend!

Re: rear D window Frame
If I go to the trouble to put windows in I would want the ones closest to origonal. I am guessing the shorter one would be right for an early 1941 B. But at this point I have not made that decision. However I see a fair amount of interest in them here and in other posts so thought that they ought to be available to those that want them. Thanks, Larry"I'm from the FAA and we're not happy, until your not happy."

Re: rear D window Frame
Looking at the photos in Chet's book the original pre-war window looks much shorter (top to bottom) but photos can trick the eye pretty easy. Can I get a copy of the drawings too and I will compare them to the window shape I derived from the photos. I know what WAS in my 41 isn't right, but some photos let me get several points on the "hole" pretty close.
