I need a set of prop bolts for my A65. It is not the tapered flange. Specs would help also if no one has any they want to sell.

Re: Need Prop Bolts
Wayne,
When I needed prop bolts I could not find any, as they were no longer available. That was after calling quite a few places. My A&P recommended I call Avico in Miami, FL. I had to give them the size I wanted, (they may be able to help you with that part), and they were a lot cheaper than what you find in the catalogs. You may speak with a female or two that have a hard time understanding English but ask for Greg or Nick. The number is 800-741-6486. Good Luck.Cheers,
Marty

For a given prop, there is probably only one length of AN bolt that is right, and since they come in 1/8" increments, it is easy to be off by a size or two. If they are too long, you might bottom out the nut on the grip (you run out of threads). If they are too short, you might not have enough thread showing past the nut. So you could reach your proper torque value, but not know that the nut has bottomed out on the threads. Washer thickness must be factored in, and if you have a skull cap type spinner that is mounted via the prop bolts, its bracket might mean that two of your bolts will need to be longer than the others.
You should be able to get the bolts for about $2 each from Aircraft Spruce, but the problem is knowing exactly which size to order.

Re: Need Prop Bolts
What prop are you trying to mount? What kind of spinner? I may have the bolts you need, but they are new, AN 6 bolts, not AN76 prop bolts.

Re: Need Prop Bolts
If you have the prop model number there is a good chance that Univair will have the prop bolts. I bought a set from them a year ago for a project. If you know what prop bolt set you need Preferred Airparts might have them at a lower cost. Tom

Re: Need Prop Bolts
A McCauley 1A90 or 1B90 on a flanged shaft with a skullcap uses AN6H-31A bolts. Use AN960-616 washers on the 4 without the skull cap bracket and AN960-616L on the other 2.
