Where did Harry sign it and did he include a certificate number? There is a possibilty that he committed a federal crime if he signed the 337 without having any approval to do so.

If a copy was sent to the FSDO he will be hearing about it soon.

I guess my question is what basis does he have to sign off work on another brand of aircraft? If that's legit, he could sign off work on a Lear as well... or am I missing something here??

Just Harry's way of trying to BS himself out of another situation. Nothing new here.

I found it interesting that I received a phone call today from Harry, stating he was returning my call...I never called him...haven't for some time, now. As I was not listed on the debts owed in the bankruptcy petition (which has now been dismissed), is he trying to appease me, once again, with a line of B.S.? He said he located some of my missing parts and would be getting them over to Hunt Pan Am today.

    Hey All,

There is an important article in this mornings Brownsville Herald about the Taylorcraft bankruptcy case dismissal and the consequences of that dismissal. Anyone with any current or anticipated dealings with the factory needs to read this...

Dated 3 days ago. I have never seen any requirements to mail a compliance report back to the factory before. As a service letter, Part 91 does not mandate you have to do anything unless it somehow becomes an AD. :kotz:

Even more important if you check the taylorcraft factory web site, in addition to the updates on the "new models" WE find the new Service Letter that applies to ALL 696 TC & 1A9 ships:
    www.taylorcraft.com/?view=sl101 Instructions?? Field reports?
Has the FAA ever had any Malfunction & Defect Reports ( M&D's) sent to them.? I will check tomorrow. I would of course like to see the factory make these "field reports" available to all owners and the Taylorcraft Foundation.

That is not an LSA - it's an F22C.

Here's the Taylorcraft company website. I thought it interesting they're showing a new LSA model with nose-gear, no less. I must say that Harry seems more persistant than most bankrupt folks with no manufacturing facility or FAA license.

WHOA! Forget everything from the previous post. I just checked the bankruptcy court filings and the judge has dismissed the case (see attached doc). Yikes. I'm not a lawyer and I may be missing something here, but right now it looks like no bankruptcy protection for Taylorcraft.

Re: News from the Factory III

    Hey All,

Apparently, Taylorcraft Aviation has hired a law firm to represent them in the bankruptcy proceedings according to a court filing from October 26, 2006. The firm is Ransome and Ray, P.C. of Brownsville. If anyone is interested in the court filings, they can be found under case number 06-10676 of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas, Brownsville District. The online link is http://www.txs.uscourts.gov/bankruptcy/
All bankruptcy court documents are public record. Very public... You'll need a PACER account set-up to actually view the documents as there is a charge of $.08 per page.

Since they now have representation, it seems like the bankruptcy process will be set in motion. Under Chapter 11, Taylorcraft will have protection from debtors while it tries to work out a recovery plan. It can continue operations while this is all going on. The entire process can proceed at glacial speed.

    TAYLORCRAFT AVIATION FACES FINANCIAL WOES
Taylorcraft Aviation in Brownsville, Texas, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy without an attorney on Friday the 13th in October, and that has come back to haunt it. Now a judge has told Taylorcraft founder Harry Ingram he can't stay under the protection of Chapter 11 unless he hires an attorney by Monday, according to The Brownsville Herald. A hearing is set for today on an eviction notice for failure to pay rent at Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport, and city officials told the newspaper they are giving Taylorcraft until mid-November to vacate in hopes that the city will not be stuck with the management of parts and machinery. The newspaper estimates the company is in debt $940,838. Ingram did not immediately return calls to ePilot for comment.
