Cut the fabric over tanks, remove the drag wires and tank straps, unhook fuel line, remove screen extension, pull tank. It is a PITA.

          Re: removing wing tanks??

I had to remove both wing tanks and replace the outlet fitting, which is available from aircraft spruce... I have lots of pictures if you send me your email address I will forward them to you. I replaced the fabrick with Alum. machine screws and rivnuts..authorized with a 337... I have not figured out how to put pictures on a thread..this is not a tough job ,just requires patience and a few hours.

              Rob,

Don't let your wife see that. If she knew you were trained using an iron, it might become your job.
