Competing the assembly of a BL65. Aileron travel is not called out on the type certificate. BC12D calls for 23 degrees up and down. What are your recommendations for the BL. I cannot locate a stop for the ailerons. Where are they? Thanks in advance.

Re: Aileron Stops on BL65
They might be inside the wing, but to be honest I can't remember seeing anything that looked like an aileron stop either. IMHO, take as much aileron throw as you can get.Taylorcraft : Making Better Aviators for 75 Years... and Counting

Re: Aileron Stops on BL65
Although the TCDS might vary, I am sure the BL has the same aileron stops as the BC model. They are on the front of the driver's side aileron universal joint sprocket.
Have a look at this photo. Although you can't see them, there are two lugs welded to the other face of the sprocket you are looking at. These limit the aileron travel.

Re: Aileron Stops on BL65
The U-joint and sprocket in your photos is not a legal aircraft part, Rob. It cannot be a certified part. There is no dirt or grease on it. Please install some dirt so we can all recognize it as being associated with an airplaneTaylorcraft : Making Better Aviators for 75 Years... and Counting

History of N22661
Mr. Hernke. I believe you may own my Father's old Taylorcraft N22661. It sounds like you are restoring it. I have some old photos I could share with you of the plane when it was in great shape and would like to see what it looks like now. Thank you. Larry Brukardt. Email: [email protected]
