  • Reinforcing tape search

Looking for 10 yards of 3m 1/2" reinforcing tape. Like the tape on the left. What Polyfiber used to use.
Need 10 yards but will buy up to a full role if you have one (or trade for a full role of the new type).

I wasn't aware polyfiber had changed suppliers.
I have one and a half wings done with the 3M style tape and would prefer not to mix them.
    thanks

    Scott,

I think I have some. I'll have to go to the hangar to confirm. Will let you know by mid-day.

I looked, just have a small amount of 1/2", and it does not say 3M. Everything I have is older, so it may be before the 3M tape.

Whether marked Polyfiber or Ceconite, it's the same damn stuff. It's rib reinforcing tape (from your photo) made by the same people.

Do you mean 3M or three metres? Your post mixes both.

If you get desperate, I can bring some out next month from the UK and ship from the US to you in Canada...but it seems like a waste of shipping cost, since I get mine from the US. But I'm happy to help if I can.

Scott, this is what I have. The mark on the right hand side is an approximation of how much tape is left.

Sorry I should have been more clear.

Polyfiber changed suppliers so their tape (seen on the right in my photo) is now almost twice as thick and has a much courser weave.

My preference is to continue with the old style tape that can be identified by "3M X-series" labeled on the peel-off backing.
