If we don't have the drawings, perhaps I can 'reverse engineer' one.

Will that involve a payraise? Or is it just for the honor? - MikeMike Horowitz

Re: Engineering drawings for "strap-on" dual brakes?
When you make and install the RH brakes make a bracket up to lock them so they DON'T WORK too. When you have a "guest" in the right seat you DO NOT want them mashing the brakes at the wrong time. You ESPECIALLY do not want them mashing down on ONE brake. You can make a simple welded clip for each brake that prevents them from working on the passenger side only. I wouldn't consider a Young Eagle flight without disabling the right hand brakes.

Re: Engineering drawings for "strap-on" dual brakes?
So why do people want right side brakes??? In my case it was many years ago when I put my 15 year old son in the left seat and was letting take off and land in my 1000 ft runway at home. (WI 181) It gave me a felling of some control. He did very good as I never really used them while he was flying. Kids learn quick!! At this time I think he is in the 10K hrs and moving from the regional jets to the 717 so it all worked out. Many $$$$ latter.Karl Rigdon TF#49
