I knew that Chet was in the triple digits, but I had not heard of his passing. I did a google search and found this, https://95thbg.com/cms/2022/3/30/obi...template-2zete .
I had not seen it mentioned on this site.

I know it is a little late, but God Speed Chet Peek.

I met him once, either perhaps at one of Forrest's occasions; perhaps at Oshkosh, I can't recall.

But a true gent. I still have my signed copy of his book.

Hell I didn't even know about it. Last time I asked a mutual friend about him they had been to the nursing facility where he had been living for awhile and spoke with him. That sucks to hear, but it will happen to all of us eventually. Most everyone I knew that lived on Cole airport has passed. Only one left is Wally Black who is selling a couple projects on here currently.

I had a nice visit with Wally on the phone the other day.

Well darn it all! I Just saw this. Part of life but so very sad as all those I looked up to are pretty much now all gone. I am going now to go pull out the Second Taylorcraft Story book I purchased from him. The first had some bad binding which he acknowledged. I still wanted to pay for a second copy however. He insisted on signing it. Also my dad had given me his book on the Jenny. I recall calling Duan Cole in the nursing home he as in not long before he past (Years ago now) I recall the feeling the loss then of another childhood hero gone. Life is too short. We better enjoy each day...and hopefully with our Taylorcrafts.

His contribution to Taylorcraft is excellent. Thank you Chet. Tailwinds.
