ID:	193223 ok so I found these little gems under the H bar attach clam shells. Getting ready to put a final paint on all the interior tubing andd control items..NOW A QUESTION ...the inside clam shell hold downs for the rubber pedal bars had a washer in thr middle between the outside bolts for these hold downs again this was on the rudder pedal rods. AM I MISSING these same bushings for the rudder pedal linkage arms? I had nothing there but an extra washer in the middle of them. Also the previous owner had used grease under these. That is all set up for oil with the oil holes one can easily see. Bigger issue is am I missing bushings on the rudder bars ? Click image for larger version

Just a WAG here, but It looks like you have two steel halves, and four brass halves. The other two steel halves are welded to the frame. The four brass halves would be the "bushings".
I haven't gotten that far in my project yet.
    Thanx,

I understand what I have as the bushings . I just had the steel half ..s for referance. My question is if there are any for the rudder pedal bars.

All of mine (on both planes) had the brass oiling bushings but no washers. Also NOT greased. You have to make sure the oiling hole in he cover (steel) piece lines up with the hole in the brass shim stock. A couple of "parts pile" control parts had the brass shim backwards. They were from smashed up planes so no way to tell how long they were like that but sure didn't look like they were lubricated very well!

                Hank,

I know they are on the H bar... those are what I am showing in my pictures. Did you have these in the rudder bar s as well? That is my question.

Hard to remember, but I think they were there. It has been a long time. I am going to try to get out to the hangar tomorrow to see if I got any hurricane Ian damage and will see if I can tell without major disassembly. The Boot Cowl is off the 45 right now so I should be able to get to them.

We have 2 fuselages - one has the brass shims and one doesnt.

Those are the same shims as pictured from the H bar hold downs. The rudder bar hold downs (middle ) are different

The picture from Rob shows the outer most rudder hold downs. Yes, they are a single just like the "H" column, but smaller in size. The double hold downs should have shims too. The intent is to provide a wear surface other than the steel.
