Jim I forgot to add that no other modification was made to the lower cowling.

I have a new uscombe 8 e exhaust to arrive on friday. Yes that is my understanding. The aeronca exhaust require a bump in the lower cowl not the Luscombe. Ha don't want my o200 plus hp sounding like an air knocker any way...lol.

Jim, found a close up of the cut out option.
If you zoom the rear cutout is just for the bend in the harness lead. So if you had a shorter plug you could probable eliminate that rear one. Maybe put an Ercoupe cup on the front plug and no cut out or bump is needed.

Thanks, yes we are going to check out a no bump option. As well. The 0200 may fill it up a bit more but any way will check to see if we can go without the bumps.

When I did my C-85 upgrade with the luscombe exhaust, I uses ercoupe cups as many have mentioned. I am still having fitment issues with my cowl. (I know every plane is a little different, mine is just crazy tight with the the 85 in it.) I am going to be installing bumps on the cowling within the next week. I ordered some PA-11 cowl bumps from Wag. They are the smallest I could find and I think should work pretty well with the Rem37 plugs and shielded ignition. I can try to take a few pictures after we get them on, hopefully early next week. the Ercoupe cups are slick if they fit. The shielding worked great. They just are too tight for my cowl unfortunately.

              Kerbs,

Exactly why I want a professional to fit my cowling. All that beautiful new metal work from the Wenglarz would go to waste I am afraid otherwise . I will see about him forming bumps as needed .

Jim, Makes sense if you are doing new cowling. I reused my cowling so I was a little more limited in options. If I were doing new cowling I would pursue no bumps if possible as well.
